Here kitty kitty!
Last week we spent time at Jared's parents house. They have cats and the girls were in heaven. They chased, fed, held, pet, called, and loved on those cats. Claire named three of them. I have never asked her names of anything before (example-her baby's name is baby) so I have no idea where she came up with these names but here they are. Kitty Cat Bam (the one that is pictured in all of the pictures below), Horses, and Kings. They sound like pretty good cat names to me. Kitty Cat Bam was a very good sport as you will see below. It was a miracle he didn't run and hide as soon as the girls walked outside. I love cats and always have. Jared on the other hand is not a big fan. I tried really hard to get him to let us bring Kings home. She is such a pretty cat. He told me no...but I think next time I will have one of the girls ask. He won't be able to say no to them. (wink wink)

Like I said he was a good sport.
Fun at the zoo
A couple of weeks ago we went to the Tulsa Zoo. It was beautiful weather and we got in for free so it made it that much more enjoyable. Claire has been learning sign language (Signing Time on PBS) and was showing us the signs for the animals. Quinn said hi to all of the animals and squealed when she saw new animals. The girls liked it enough I am considering a yearly pass. We'll see.
Claire is showing us the sign for elephant.
They said hi to every sheep and goat in the petting zoo.

So tired
Wanted a picture with the giraffe.
Dresser
I have been itching for a new project to do. I thought about painting rooms then decided on something a little smaller and went with painting a dresser for Quinn's room. I painted it a turquoise color and then put a walnut stain on top and then changed out the handles. Here is what it looks like.

While I was doing this project I let the girls paint pictures. They had such a good time and left my painting project to me.
She is such a mess but I love her to death.
After the dresser was done and in Quinn's room Claire asked if she could have a new dresser and that she wanted it pink. I guess I have a new project to do.
She's still my baby!!
When I had intended to write this blog Quinn was 18 months old. Sunday she will be 19 months old. We had her 18 month check and everything was great. The doctor did have to ask if she ever talked because Claire wouldn't stop talking. It was pretty funny. She is 33" tall (84%) and weighs 23lb 14oz. (44%) Tall and skinny. She had to get vaccinations this visit but did fine. She didn't even cry on the first one but when she got her flu shot she let it go. Let me tell you if you have not heard Quinn "let it go" you should be glad your hearing is spared. That girl can wail!
Quinn is quite the talker. She will jibber jabber away and even though I understand about 90% of what she says I am afraid others can only understand about 25%. Sometimes Claire has to help me out in deciphering. My favorite words that she says are medicine, okay, and yes. She makes all those words sound adorable.
Her favorite toys right now would be her baby and her stuffed piggie. The baby for sure goes everywhere with her. Luckily she allows us to leave it in the car when we go out. She loves to rock the baby in the rocking chair and push her in the stroller.
She loves to sing!!! She only has 2 levels of volume when she sings...loud and very loud. I have no idea why my children are so loud! ;) She likes to sing Jesus loves me and "tinkle tinkle wittle sar" She also likes the sunshine song. (You are my sunshine)
The child gets into everything. She is not afraid to climb up on and through things. She has mastered getting herself up on the couch and on chairs...and then the kitchen table. No fear I tell you! She puts just about everything in her mouth. I am constantly saying. "Quinn, get that out of your mouth!". If you give her something and want it back expect for it to be wet when you do.
She loves to eat. I can't say she has a favorite right now because she will eat just about anything you put in front of her. She knows how to use a fork but she chooses to drive me crazy and doesn't. Especially when red sauce is involved. (see picture above) She is a very messy eater and food is always in her hair. I am not real sure how that always happens.
She loves her big sister and wants to do whatever she does. If Claire wears a dress Quinn wants to. If Claire picks something out pink then Quinn wants pink too. They play so well together...I love hearing their giggles from another room. It makes my heart smile. Even though she loves following Claire around she also likes playing by herself and does so quite often. She usually is in her room playing with her toys or rocking her baby.
Quinn will ask to be tickled. "Ticka me mommy." She loves it and she has such a cute laugh so I can't help but oblige.
She likes to cuddle and gives great kisses and hugs.
She is a people person and loves to say hi to everyone. She can still be pretty serious around people but once she warms up to you be prepared for her to sit in your lap but don't be surprised if she sticks something you have in her mouth and then offers it back all slobbery.

This girl cracks me up!
We were leaving Target yesterday and the cashier had a small conversation with Claire. It went a little like this.
You are so cute how old are you? Are you three?
"No, I am just 2!"
Wow, 2 is a big girl.
"Yes, and Quinn is 1." (At this point the cashier looked at me for clarification. So I interpreted.)
The cashier looked at Quinn and said. Hi cutie you are 1, well you are a big girl too.
"No, she is not a big girl she goes pee pee in her diaper. I am big girl I go pee pee in the big girl potty and I wear big girl panties!" "She not a big girl!!"
With a surprised look the cashier smiled and just said have a good day.
