It is hard to believe that Claire will be 3 years old in 3 months. Wow, time goes by so fast!!!

Golf Pros
We may just have the next female golf pros growing up in our house. I found these cheap plastic golf clubs and bag for the girls. They were so excited to play. Almost as excited as Jared was. Jared showed them how to hold the club and helped them with a few practice swings. They could have played all night if we would have let them. I think Jared had more fun...he even got out his clubs and practice balls and played.
So excited, even though they have no idea what a golf club is.

Sprinkles
The girls loved to play in their little blow up pool in the back yard. Yes I said loved...Samson chewed it to smithereens. There were plastic pieces all over the backyard and who knows where else. ;) I should have known it would only be a matter of time. I mean this is the dog that ate off the side of our house, chewed on the cable cords and chewed his dog house in half. The pool never stood a chance. So, since there was no pool we all played in the sprinkler. (Don't worry there are no pictures of Jared and I in our swimsuits!!) It was the first time for the girls and they really enjoyed themselves. I am not sure what took us so long to try it out but now that is all I hear every morning. "Mommy can we play in the sprinkles today?"
Easing in...she must get that from me.
Whoops, it got her right in the face.
I love this one!
Playing fetch with Samson...or maybe it is keep away.
Outside Fun
The girls love to be outside so we try as much as we can when the weather is cooler. On this morning it was all about looking for acorns and then it was all about sweeping the dead leaves off the driveway so they could ride their bikes. They did such a good job sweeping that Jared even noticed when he got home from work. Probably because they swept them into a pile in the front yard.

Quinn didn't want to walk across the grass.
So she got upset and showed off her diaper.

Much better!

Without Power
We have finally seen some rain the past couple of days. It was so wonderful and an answer to prayer...we needed to cool off. Last night the storms brought along power outages for parts of Tulsa. We were part of that. We lost power for about an hour. It was right after we got the girls out of the bath, thank goodness not while they were in the bath. They would have flipped out. Trying to explain to Claire the lights didn't work and that we would not be watching 1 Curious George before bed was difficult. The girls did think daddy was pretty cool reading their bedtime book with a flashlight. Once the girls were in bed the power came back on. Twenty minutes later a loud whoosh and firecracker sound came from our back yard. The green box in the corner of the yard that holds electrical stuff for OG&E had black plumes of smoke coming out of it. We tried calling OG&E and when all we got was a recording we called the fire department on their non-emergency line to see what we should do. They felt they needed to come and a few minutes later we heard the sirens and saw the flashing lights. So did all the neighbors. I think Jared talked to neighbors he has never even met before. The firemen looked it over and called OG&E whom said they would be on their way. The firemen told us they would wait in the firetruck out front until the electric company arrived. We thanked them and as Jared talked to all the neighbors I came in and read a book with a book light. (I have not had time to read a book in forever) We had called the fire department at 8:30 p.m. and at 11:00 p.m. they were still out front and we still didn't have power. We finally went to bed and at midnight when Claire woke up we looked out and they were gone. This morning we woke up and it was still dark. We were hot but thankful that the power didn't go off on a day that was over 100 degrees. OG&E showed up around 8 a.m. with a new green box and tools to take our fence down. They had to drive the new box in and the old one out. Once they got it all in and the electricity on they blew something else two doors down and they had to turn the power off again. After it all we were without power for 15 hours. Better than days I guess. The girls were entertained today by watching them work. I am so thankful the weather was cool today and we could play outside till it rained and by then the power was back on. It could always be worse and if anything we now know our neighbors a little better.
Yeah for cooler weather!

If we were going to be outside they had to have their lawn chairs.

It has been so HOT lately. The temperatures have ranged from 100 to 114 degrees the last couple of weeks. It has been too hot to play outside. It was finally cool enough last night. It was so nice to finally get some fresh air.

Their first haircuts.
Quinn's First Haircut
I finally gave in after Jared convinced me it was time to get Quinn's hair cut. It has needed to be done for a while. She was looking pretty scraggly. I am not quite sure why it was such a big deal for me to wait to get her hair cut. I think I thought if I didn't cut it she wouldn't be growing up. I know, I know I am weird. She did very well and I have to admit she looks so cute! Claire even called her a big girl. She didn't cry or get upset and she cooperated very well. I think she remembered that every time Claire got her hair cut she got candy from Mr. Will's candy basket afterwards. Her and Claire went straight for the basket when they were done. She deserved it.

Cherry Berry
Today the girls and I finally tried Cherry Berry. I have been wanting to try it since there has been so much hype about the place. I was a little worried at first because to be honest I would rather just have ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised! I decided the girls and I would share a cup. I put what I wanted on one side and what the girls wanted on the other. Claire loved the mini M&M's and sprinkles. I loved the raspberries and strawberries. Needless to say with three spoons going into one cup it all got mixed together. Note to self... Get my own cup next time!
