Easter baskets

I was not planning on putting any type of gift in the girls' Easter baskets this year, I really don't want to get that started. I was planning on candy and snacks but that be it. The problem was that Quinn was carrying around Claire's baby doll and it was upsetting Claire. She would take it away from Quinn and then Q would cry. After about 10 times a day this happening I had to get Quinn a baby. So I ordered one online and felt I needed an excuse to give it to her so it ended up in her Easter basket. :) Claire has been loving to play with play dough, I love it too because it can keep her occupied up to an hour!!! So, Claire got play dough and all the fun gadgets like cookie cutters, rolling pin, presses, etc. She has the best time and Quinn loves to rock her very own baby in the rocking chair in her room. Their favorite thing was the candy...so next year that's the plan...candy! That's what they really want anyway.

Easter Weekend

We spent Good Friday and Saturday in Enid. We spent time with my family on Friday and then with Jared's family on Saturday. On Sunday for Easter we were back in Tulsa and spent the day going to church and having family time. It was a very good weekend. I have some cute pictures of the girls I would like to share. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!

The Next American Idol?

The girls and I watch my dvr'd American Idol every Thursday morning. We had been watching for awhile this morning when I realized that Claire was singing her ABC's...using her play vacuum as a microphone stand. I was so afraid that by the time I got the camera she would not want to sing anymore. She loved that I was recording her and put on quite the show. In the second video she is nice and warmed up and even tries a little choreography. At the end of both I am pretty sure she is taking a bow. My little American Idol!

Quinn's moving on up.

Quinn has officially moved to a front-facing big girl car seat. I was so sad to take the infant car seat out. I may have teared up...ok I cried. For those of you that know me you know I am very sentimental and emotional. We bought Quinn the same car seat as Claire's it just has a different pattern. It totally makes the car feel different. The girls are no longer by each other. Which will probably be good for Quinn because Claire liked to stick her feet in Quinn's face. Claire likes the arrangement because we put her cup holder on her seat now that there is more room, she loves it. Quinn's first ride was on the way to church Sunday morning. On the way home she fell asleep and it was so cute to actually see her cute sleeping face. I loved it! It will take a little getting used to but I don't think it will take long.

Tulsa Children's Museum

On Saturday we went to the Tulsa Children's Museum. We really enjoyed it and look forward to going back again.

The Historical Society was having a garden show so we picked up 2 trees (for free) to plant in the backyard from the Up with Trees program. We will see if they will survive Samson...I am betting not. The grounds were so pretty I took a picture of the girls under a big tree.

Tulsa 66ers

This weekend we took the girls to a Tulsa 66ers game. The girls' first basketball game. It was so cute to hear Claire say "baketball" game. The 66ers are the D-league for the Thunder. For some reason Jared has been able go to Thunder games and it looks like the closest I will get will be their farm team. :) We did get to see Cole Aldrich so that was pretty cool. The girls really enjoyed it. We lasted almost an hour before Quinn became a wiggle worm and refused to sit still. The girls would clap every time we did. Quinn would clap even when we weren't. Claire didn't care as much about the game as she did the mascot Routie the bird. She wanted to know where he was at all times. The game we went to was a Playoff game so after the first quarter the following mascots appeared and then walked through the crowd. Routie (66ers), Dozer (OKC Yard Dawgs), Rowdy (OK Redhawks) and our favorite Boomer. (OU Sooners) Claire was so excited and would wave to them from afar. They all came up to us and tried to get a high five from Claire and she just froze and stared, as soon as they walked away she would smile and wave at them. Too funny, I don't blame her one bit. I am afraid of mascots...yes I said it....they freak me out!!!! I put on a brave face for the girls. Anyway, we had a really good time. Our next sporting event will hopefully be a Tulsa Drillers baseball game. Maybe we can last longer than an hour.

Sewing Project

A little over a month ago I got a wild idea that I wanted to learn to sew. I borrowed mom's sewing machine then had a friend (Cheyenne) show me the basics. She sews really cute things and actually inspired me during a MOPS meeting when "the sewers" were sewing bags for birthing kits to be sent to Haiti. About 2 weeks ago I started my first project, blankets for Claire and Quinn. All of us girls went to the fabric store to pick out fabric. I must admit I was VERY overwhelmed. I had no idea what I was doing...All I had done was look at a tutorial online to get an idea of what to do. Picking out fabric was so hard! There are way too many choices!!! I had to buy scissors and thread and binding and a seam ripper and.....so much more stuff that I could go on and on. Anyway, I picked out Quinn's fabrics and Claire picked hers out. She insisted on a blue blanket. If you ask her now she will tell you she wants a yellow blanket, 2 year olds! :) I was so excited to get started...so I did that night. I worked on them at night once the girls went to bed and during their nap time. Thankfully they take a nap at the same time. A little over 2 weeks they are both done! The girls seem to like them, even though Claire's ended up with alot more green than I thought and she wants a yellow one. Maybe the next one will be yellow. My next plan is to make a couple of dresses for them. We'll see. I am not that good at it but I really enjoy it. I'll keep you posted on any other projects.

Quinny Q is growing up!

Yesterday Quinn stood up in the middle of the living room floor without holding on to anything (Which we have never seen her do) and walked over to me. Jared, Claire and I were in amazement. She was very proud of herself!! She continued to walk around the house the remainder of the afternoon. She would fall but would get back up and start over. It was so cute to watch her follow Claire down the hallway walking instead of crawling behind her. She even showed off her walking skills to a few people at church this morning. I am very happy she has reached this milestone but I am also sad, I truly realize that she is no longer a baby. Quinny Q. is growing up right before my eyes!

(Q. had taken no more than 4 or 5 steps at a time before yesterday...she was holding out on us.)
