Picture time
It has been awhile since I have just taken pictures of the girls for fun. They were willing to smile for me tonight so here are a few I took.
Let's Dance
Claire started dance lessons this last Thursday at Jenks Dance Academy. She is taking a class where she learns ballet, tap, and tumbling. We had to buy the leotard, tights, skirt, and tap and ballet shoes and I have to admit it made me a little giddy inside. It was so fun buying those things for her! I always wanted to dance and I am excited we can give Claire the opportunity to try it out. I think Jared secretly hopes she wants to play basketball or soccer but once he sees her dancing he may change his mind. It may have been one of the cutest things I have ever seen her do. She concentrated on getting the moves right but she laughed and she smiled and she had fun! She is in the class with one of her friends from church, Rachel. I think that makes it even better for her. It was so fun to watch them interact. When I asked her what style she liked the best she said she liked tap. She also told us that it was so loud when everyone was tapping their shoes at the same time. She looks forward to next Thursday but she did say "I want to meet my real teacher next time." I said "Miss. Casey is your real teacher." "No, she is not the real teacher her hair was long and curly and not in a bun." Haha! She has been watching Bella Dancerella and that teacher has her hair in a bun, too funny!
We only signed her up for one semester to see how she likes it but after only one class I think we will be signing her up again.

Play Room
I have been wanting to make the guest room into a play room for awhile. I figure we might as well use the space we have. Jared gave me the green light and so I started right away on Tuesday and finished Wednesday evening. I moved furniture out and started painting the walls. There was a big purple stripe on two walls. I painted over those and now the room is all tan. Ready to add cute stuff on the walls...one day...a very far away day...but one day. Claire got the full size guest bed in her room, I wanted to make sure we had somewhere for the occasional guest to sleep. Quinn got Claire's twin bed and the toddler bed went up in the attic. The girls look so tiny in those big beds, especially Claire. She feels like a big kid!!! Quinn is super excited about her big bed as well. She had been in a sleeping on the floor phase...she started out on the floor and then we would move her to her bed once we went to bed. I guess all we needed to do was get her a big bed because she goes to sleep in it just fine. Plus, she loves showing us how she can get into bed and under the covers all by herself. Big time!
We then put all of their toys into the new play room. One thing I realized is that those girls have way too many toys! Holy moly. We went through a few of their things that we are going to donate. Claire liked knowing she was giving her toys to kids that don't have any. I also have boxed some up to store for the girls once they have kids. (The girls play with toys now that used to be Jared's...so cool!) Hopefully it will be a successful and good decision to make a play room. They seem to really like it and that is all that matters. The room is not quite as I want it to be. I want to decorate the walls and we still have a computer cabinet that we need to move out. So, no pictures yet but I do have pictures of the girls in their beds.

Happy Birthday Grandma!
Monday was my mom's birthday. Her and my dad came last weekend and the girls were excited to celebrate grandma. On the day they were coming Claire was adamant about having a cake. If there is a birthday there is a cake, duh! So the girls and I went to Reasors to get one. The girls picked one that they loved. It had purple frosting and pink flowers. We had them write Happy birthday grandma on it as well. As we were getting into the car I dropped it right out of the bag. Splat!
So, I got the girls out of the car and we went back in for a second cake. The girls were upset because they did not have any more purple and pink cakes. They finally picked a red iced cake with yellow flowers. It was a very nice party with us, grandma and papa, and uncle Josh. The girls got to eat some of the smashed cake the next day...well, they ate the icing off the side of the packaging. I am afraid they are going to want me to drop cakes more often if it means they get to eat more frosting.
Happy Birthday Mom! We love you!
Not quite time
So I posted a couple of weeks ago that we were going to start potty training Quinn. That is a big no go. It lasted a day and a half and that was it. I was just not ready to stay committed and stick with it plus Quinn did not care at all as well. The first day she had numerous accidents and did not go in the potty at all. We sat on the potty for what seemed like all day. She would sit there and talk, and sing, and play with the shower curtain or the toilet paper. At one point she crosses her legs and just stares at me. Little stinker. I even told her she would get M&M's for going. She acted excited about it but obviously did not care enough. The second day was looking a lot like the first except when I said it was time to try and potty she told me no, she didn't want to go potty on the big potty. So I sat her down and we talked. I told her she was still a big girl but that we will try this again in a few weeks. She looked at me and said ok mommy. We put a diaper on and she has been content with that ever since. It is so funny how different she is from Claire and I look forward to having to come up with a different approach with her. Looking forward to it may be the wrong words. :) I am so happy she is who she is and I wouldn't change her for the world. I love that cute toot!

Lieser Family Olympics
In spirit of the Olympic games we decided to have the Lieser family Olympics this week. We heard the idea from a few friends and knew the girls would love doing it.
The girls and I started off by dressing in our red, white, and blue and then we made gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Once Jared got home and after dinner the games began. Our first game was a ball toss.
And the gold goes to...
Claire-gold, Mommy-silver, Quinn-bronze
We had to pose with the medal up by our faces.
Claire and I won gold with a score of 2-1
Medal ceremony looking at the flag. (it was a pretend one...Quinn thought that was fun.)
Just call me grace.
Biting the medals...it's not real gold. :(
Our last event was a foot race. To no ones surprise mommy came in last. This was Quinn's favorite event.
Usain Bolt pose. Claire-gold, Quinn-silver, Jared-bronze
This was so much fun!! I look forward to the 2016 Lieser Family Olympics. I also look forward to winning more than one gold next time. Claire better watch her back...mommy is coming!

Olympic hopeful
I have to admit that I just love the Olympics and I am so glad that Jared is right there with me. We have not had the channel off of NBC since the Olympics started. It is so inspiring and emotional and stressful and I love it all!
I am a fan of the summer Olympics over the winter. We love to watch swimming, track and field, volleyball, cycling...
My favorite is gymnastics. I was so excited the Fierce 5 won a gold! I always wanted to be a gymnast and watching them I remembered I had an old, very old, picture of me back when I was an Olympic gymnast hopeful...ok, maybe not.
It's potty time...maybe.
Quinn has been asking to go on the big girl potty and also has been taking her own diaper off. So we decided to start potty training her and today was the first day.
Quinn and I went to Wal-Mart last night so she could pick out her big girl underpants. It was a tough choice and she went back and forth between Hello Kitty, fairies, Minnie Mouse, and princesses. In the end she picked the princesses because Rapunzel is on one of them and that is her favorite movie.
I have to admit that the thought of potty training is not appealing to me. Plus it is just making me realize my "baby" is growing up. None the less we attempted today. She had 4 accidents and never went in the potty. She sat on the potty for what seemed like most of the day. She would sit there and sing, cross her legs, play with the toilet paper, play with the shower curtain, anything but go potty. She would tell me she needed to pee pee as she was going all over the floor. I even gave her the M&M incentive that worked so well with Claire. She wanted the candy and she tried but was unsuccessful.
So, I am saying a prayer that it all clicks and she starts to get it tomorrow or we may be waiting and I will be patting that diaper bottom a little longer...and that may just be ok with me. ;)
Beating the heat
It is so hot! The temp today was 113. We have been going to the splash pad or the pool often to keep from sweltering.
