Zacchaeus

Quinn was singing this on the way home from church tonight and I thought it was too cute not to record. I love the way she says sycamore. :)

Chuck E. Cheese

Our MOPS play date today was at Chuck E. Cheese. We have never been before and the girls loved it! They had such a good time playing games and collecting tickets. We ended up with 90 tickets and the girls picked candy (not surprised!) and bracelets as their prizes. They loved that they got to eat their favorite...pizza! It was extra special because Claire's friend Alex was celebrating his 4th birthday today so we were able to celebrate with him. Quinn was very afraid of Chuck the mouse when he came out to say hi. So much that even when I put her to bed tonight she said "Mommy, that Chuck E Cheeses scared me." I hope she doesn't have nightmares. I think I have said before that I am very weirded out by mascots...they creep me out! It was difficult for me to be brave and tell Quinn everything was fine and that he was our friend. When the whole time I am looking at that big mouse head all I wanted to do was punch him in the face and run away. (Was that too violent?) I now have the willies! Anyway, the girls had fun and can't wait to go again but they want to bring daddy next time. Fine with me...him and Claire can talk to the big mouse while Quinn and I play games far far away!

She is so brave...she gave him a high five!

See Quinn's face? Scared...I feel ya Quinny!!

Daddy's little helpers.

The girls were super excited when Jared said they could help him wash the car. They started out playing in the hose and filling up their Push Pop caps with water and even putting their push pops under the water. Eventually they got to work. They were washing right along side of Jared. Quinn then proceeded to make a mud puddle in the grass and then turn the hose on herself to get all wet. Fun day in the sun!

Squirmy Wormy

While we were out playing the girls discovered a worm. Thankfully Jared was around to help the girls play with it. Yuck!

Dancing in the rain.

The girls LOVE to jump in puddles and ask to do so every time it rains. It rained all day last Monday and Claire kept asking if she could play in the rain. Once it wasn't a downpour they got to go outside. They were being shy at first by just putting their hands in it but eventually they went out and jumped in puddles and danced around. They said the water was cold but it still took us forever to get them back inside.

I want to be like daddy!

Last weekend Jared mowed the lawn and we played outside while he did. Jared had an old bubble blower lawnmower toy that he had as a kid. Claire decided she was going to help Jared mow. She followed him around the entire time he mowed. It was the cutest thing. Quinn didn't have a mower so she used one of her push toys and followed daddy as well.

A day at the park.

A couple of weeks ago we met our friends at the park. The girls still talk about how much fun they had. Quinn surprised me by walking up the stairs and going down the slide without any fear. By the end of the day she was going down on her tummy. The kids enjoyed playing in the rocks the most. (Who makes a park with little rocks!) I am pretty sure every child ended up in time out at least once for throwing rocks. Quinn ended up there twice, little stinker.

Too cool!

The things they say.

While we were getting ready to go to the park the girls were on their step stools in the bathroom in front of the mirror. They were waiting to get their hair fixed and were brushing their teeth. While I was fixing Quinn's hair Claire suddenly jumped off her step and headed toward the potty. When she realized the step wasn't in front of the potty, she had just hopped off of it in front of the mirror, she looked up at me with panic in her eyes. She had waited till the last minute to go and she was worried that she didn't have time to move the step over. So I rushed into action but as I did I said "Dear God, please don't pee pee your panties!" Normally I do not talk this way but she was fully dressed and we were running late. I did not want to have to change clothes and clean up a mess. Excuses, I know. Anyway, we made it in time...in case you were wondering. Once everything was fine I went back to fixing Quinn's hair but not before Claire said "Mommy, you said dear God please don't pee pee your panties." "Yes, I did say that." "But mommy, I am not God I am Claire." She was absolutely right.

Even Princess Fairies ride bikes and play outside.

Fairy Princesses
The girls wanted to make fairy wings and dress up like princesses so that is just what we did. They colored and glittered their wings yesterday and then we finished them today. Since it was a beautiful day we went outside to play. We spent most of the morning outside soaking in the sunshine and getting some fresh air. I love spring! I took a ton of pictures and had a hard time editing down.
