The girls love having play dates and they really love it when the play date involves outside activities. We had the girls' friend over the other day for some soccer, golf, and maybe a little picture taking by the mommies. They were more than happy to pose and that made me so happy since I am trying to get the hang of shooting in manual mode only. Fun playing for them and fun practice for me.

Smarty pants
Claire loves to learn. She loves it when I give her "school work" to do. She has known how to write her name and capital letters for awhile and is just now starting to write her numbers. (her own initiative) The other day she was bored so I gave her some work sheets for her to practice writing her first and last name. Also it helps her to learn how to write her lower case letters. She doesn't have those down yet. She concentrates hard and wants to make sure everything is just right. One of the many things I love about her until we are in a hurry and I want her to be less of a perfectionist. ;) She is excited about starting school especially since her friends will be starting this year. One more year...thank goodness for mommy's sake.
P.S. Quinn wants nothing to do with learning her letters She is not in the least bit interested. I am not surprised...little stinker.

Headbands, Headbands, Headbands
I get into crafty moods every once in awhile and it tends to last a week or so and then I am good after a project is done. Then a few weeks later I see a new idea and the mood is back. About 3 weeks ago I decided to sew the girls headbands out of scrap fabric that I had. It was a very easy project and fun. Thanks to pinterest I got the idea. (happytogethercreates.com). I just knew the girls were going to love them because they are so into headbands right now. They want their hair long with a headband every day. They were pretty excited at first and Quinn loved hers with the hippopotamus on it. She wore it for about 3 days straight and then that was it. I think I got one in Claire's hair maybe twice. I am hoping they will like them eventually because they stay in and they hold their fine hair back and out of their eyes. Of course a regular haircut would keep the hair out of their eyes if I would ever just pick up the phone and schedule an appointment. I mean how hard is it?!?!?! Anyway, if they decide to not wear them does anyone need a headband for their little girl? Maybe 2 or 3?
| Proof they did wear them at least once. |
Mother's Day 2012
On this beautiful Saturday morning my "special" Mother's Day day began with me getting to sleep in until 9 a.m. Oh yeah, I said 9 a.m.!! Jared got up with the girls this morning and let me sleep. Then we had breakfast at McD's. The girls then went with Jared to pick out my gift from them. While they were gone I was able to clean up the house....alone without everything I just put away getting brought back out. I also was able to take a long shower...without a child opening the shower curtain or yelling through the door. Those two things alone made this day glorious! The girls came running in the house with gifts in tow. They picked out candy, Carrie Underwood cd, flowers, and a matchbox car. A toy car or train is Claire's favorite gift to give and Quinn loves to give candy. My card was a Tinker Bell card and it sang a song. You know you are special when you get a singing card. I loved it all because I know the girls picked it out. What sweetie pies! We then went to the park and Jared took pictures of the girls and I. I never realized till recently how few pictures I am actually in. I guess because I am always behind the camera. We then had a picnic lunch and the girls played at the park. This was my favorite part of the day watching the girls play. They are getting so big and are so fearless and are just adorable. I could watch them laugh and play like that all day. We went out for dinner and then headed home. After the girls were in bed I went for a jog and then spent the rest of the evening being lazy watching t.v. on the couch. It really was a special day. I am such a lucky mommy and wife to have such a beautiful loving family. As I checked on the girls tonight I kissed their sleeping faces and I teared up as I prayed for them and I thanked God for blessing me with those two precious treasures. I am grateful for these girls and I am so proud to be their mama.
