Valentine's Day

We started our day making valentines for daddy.
After our valentines were done and we were all ready the girls and I went shopping. Claire loves to go shopping. She is a girl after my own heart. ;) We went into the Carter's store to get the girls a couple of outfits. Claire had the best time because they don't have carts and she got to walk. Quinn was in the stroller trying to get out the entire time. Claire loved that there were clothes hanging at her level, she would take them off the rack and bring them to me saying "Cute blue one mommy...shirt!" I told her yes it was cute but she needed to put it back. She did this through out the store. She eventually stopped telling me they were cute and started piling them on Quinn in the stroller. This actually kept Quinn entertained and kept her from trying to get out. Once we paid and were getting ready to leave I realized Claire no longer had her sippy cup...we walked the store to find it and in the meantime she had picked up a card that was on the register counter. I told her we needed to put it back and took it from her. She did not agree with my decision and threw a roll on the floor fit , screaming and yelling. "MINE MOMMY MINE!!!!" Quinn decided to cry at the top of her lungs as well and twist herself around in the stroller trying to get out. I calmly gathered my children and walked out of the store. I was just glad everyone made it out of there alive. Poor Claire was so upset and I felt so bad. I wasn't sure if we should stop off at our next destination or not...Kupcakz. The plan was to get Jared 2 cupcakes from the girls. I decided to risk it...I bet you can guess it was not a good idea. I tempted the girls with looking at yummy cupcakes and then did not let them have one. I did not realize at the time that this was kind of mean to do to a two year old. Needless to say Claire was upset again...in the process of getting her to the car I dropped the cupcakes. (See picture below) At this point I laughed...what more could I do. Well, we came home and took naps and that was just what everyone needed.
The cupcakes were still delicious. Peppermint chocolate and Boston creme. Yummy! We ate them as soon as Jared got home. Desert before dinner = awesomeness!

Jared made Valentines Day very special for the girls. He came in with balloons for the girls. (Their first balloons ever) Then he brought flowers for all of us girls. Claire was excited that hers and Quinn's were pink. Jared also gave coloring books to all of us girls. Yes, I said all of us. I was ecstatic about my Strawberry Shortcake coloring book. He knows me too well. The girls got their outfits from earlier, a movie, and Claire got chocolate. (Next year Quinn!!) It was a wonderful day! I am blessed to have so much love in our home!

Valentines Day Eve

Jared and I had our Valentines Day date a night early. We had free babysitting offered to us tonight so we took full advantage. We dropped off the kids and were a little nervous and worried about what we were going to talk about for two hours? Not really nervous... but it has been a long time since we have sat at a dinner table without spending the entire time talking to and feeding children. The place we were excited to try was closed, guess we should have checked on that first, so we picked a random restaurant we knew nothing about. It was so cute because we sat down and they had tablecloths (this may not be a big deal to some but we usually eat at places where things can be easily cleaned up), it was dimly lit and there was candlelight on the table. Jared tried to act like it was part of his romantic plan and that he deserved recognition for taking me to this place. ;) We didn't have any trouble talking and had a really good time. It was good to spend a few hours alone... sometimes in my busyness I forget just how funny and cute he is. (Corny?!?!? Yes, I know!)

As we were headed home with the girls giggling at each other and Itsy Bitsy Spider playing in the background we realized that we missed our girls. They are such a joy and we LOVE them so much.

To make the day even more special Claire was praying with daddy before bed...she actually repeated Jared's prayer and in all her cuteness said I love you Jesus, Amen. I am truly blessed and I am so thankful for my loving husband and my beautiful kids. What a great Valentines Day Eve!!!

Jesus loves me

Today when we got home from church Claire was singing, nothing unusual she sings quite often. I can recognize the songs she sings by the tune because most of the time I can't understand all of her words or she makes up lyrics to whatever tune she is singing. (I wonder where she gets that from. wink wink) Today she was singing Jesus Loves Me. She did such a good job, words and all. I must admit that we do occasionally sing that song here at the house but I know she learned it from church. I am so thankful for her teachers that have taught her that song. I smiled and teared up a little as she sang at the top of her lungs. I said "Do you know that Jesus loves you Claire?" "I do!" Then we had to name everyone else in the family that Jesus loves. It made my day and filled me with such happiness!

Day 11- dreams

THE JOY OF LOVE
Day 11
Dreams...
(What does your loved one dream of accomplishing or doing? Goals/aspirations)
This one was a hard one with the girls. I asked Claire what she wanted to be when she grows up...she looked at me blankly, just as I expected. I thought about taking a picture of a diploma (I am sure they both will aspire to graduate high school and college) or maybe Claire with her doll acting like a mommy. Then I thought about what my dream, hope, prayer for them would be. Without a shadow of a doubt I want them to have a relationship with Jesus. I want them to walk with the Lord everyday and to learn about and to know Him. I want to be with them in heaven!!!! So this is my interpretation of my dream for them.
