Since we are now hanging the girls artwork in their rooms they have been asking to paint. It was nice out so we had a painting workshop outside. It was beautiful and so much fun.

Artists Display
I have mentioned before how much the girls love to do arts and crafts. They love for me to hang their masterpieces on the refrigerator and it is my privilege to do so. I decided that since they love their art displayed that I would make a way for them to see it in their rooms. In Claire's room we hung 6 clipboards on her wall. We have seen this idea on her cousin's wall and also on the Internet. For Quinn's room I found magnetic boards that we just hung up with cutsie clips. They are so proud of what they do and I love that it can be displayed where they can see them and plus now my fridge isn't covered. Score!
Just a Swingin
The girls LOVE to be outside! They love to play in the backyard in the sandbox, swinging, and with Samson. Here are some cute pics of them playing. Taken with my new camera...of course!
New gift for me.
I have been hoping and wishing for a new camera and I have finally bought one. I have been super excited to use it. It is a digital SLR and I am so nervous that I may never learn how to use it properly. Right now I am just shooting on AUTO and I am loving the pictures. I can't wait until I learn how to shoot in manual however scary and exciting it may be. You may have already come to the conclusion that this blog has turned into a photo blog...just wait!
Here are the first shots on the new camera.
Easter 2012
This year for Easter Sunday we were actually at our own church. I am not sure that has happened since we moved here but, we didn't actually get to go into the Easter service because it was our turn for Worship Care. Which means we watched twelve 2 year olds during big church time. Those little guys are so cute so it made up for missing the service.
We were too busy getting ready that morning that we did not get a chance to give the girls their Easter baskets until we got home from church. We have not told the girls anything about the Easter bunny so they weren't expecting anything when they woke up. I tried to not put too much candy in them and tried to keep it pretty simple. We did get Quinn a Read with Me toddler bible and Claire a Devotional for preschoolers. Claire loved her devotional especially when we told her that Jared and I would be doing it with her every night. She loves to have "bible study" with mommy and daddy.
We talked to the girls, mainly Claire, about what Easter means by asking them what they had been learning at church. We told the girls what Easter means to us and why it is important. I am not sure how much, if any, made sense but I don't want them thinking that it's all about bunnies, and candy, and eggs. Those things are fun and wonderful but it is about so much more!
Easter with family.
Every Easter we try to spend with both sides of the family. I love getting the girls together with all of their cousins. They had so much fun with Easter egg hunts this year. They were so excited to fill their baskets but really loved seeing what was inside the eggs.
I took pictures while with the Lieser's and then accidentally deleted my entire memory card. If you know how much I love taking pictures you will know that this about made me sick. I was so upset! So there are no pictures of that time together but it did take place, I promise. :) The girls had such a good time playing outside on the swing and pushing a dump truck around. For some reason I love it that the girls are ok with getting dirty and playing with trucks. The egg hunt was fun because there was lots of candy for me to eat and even coins in some of them. The girls came home tired, dirty, and with a basket full of goodies.
At the Riley's the girls decorated treasure boxes with tissue paper and mod podge. The girls were so happy, they are both crafty and love anything to do with art or crafts. Once done hunting eggs they discovered that inside the eggs were items that would go inside their treasure boxes. They found play necklaces, bracelets, rings, and coins. They also found Squinkies, my girls new favorite toys. They also had fun playing with their cousins. It was a house full of girls this year. There was a lot of squealing going on.
It was hard to come home and go back to normal life after so much fun with our family. At least we had eggs full of fun and treats to keep us busy for awhile.
