Lieser Family Olympics

In spirit of the Olympic games we decided to have the Lieser family Olympics this week. We heard the idea from a few friends and knew the girls would love doing it.
The girls and I started off by dressing in our red, white, and blue and then we made gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Once Jared got home and after dinner the games began. Our first game was a ball toss.

And the gold goes to...
Claire-gold, Mommy-silver, Quinn-bronze

We had to pose with the medal up by our faces.
The next competition was Claire's favorite...soccer. Claire and I were on a team and Jared and Quinn were on a team.

Claire and I won gold with a score of 2-1

Medal ceremony looking at the flag. (it was a pretend one...Quinn thought that was fun.)
Our next event was one of my favorites and secretly Jared's as well, Rhythmic gymnastics. I have pictures of Jared being the best daddy and participating but he has made me promise not to show them to anyone...ever. Luckily for him I love him too much to allow you a good laugh but trust me when I say it was a very funny sight.

Just call me grace.

Biting the medals...it's not real gold. :(
Our last event was a foot race. To no ones surprise mommy came in last. This was Quinn's favorite event.

Usain Bolt pose.

This was so much fun!! I look forward to the 2016 Lieser Family Olympics. I also look forward to winning more than one gold next time. Claire better watch her back...mommy is coming!

Olympic hopeful

I have to admit that I just love the Olympics and I am so glad that Jared is right there with me. We have not had the channel off of NBC since the Olympics started. It is so inspiring and emotional and stressful and I love it all!
I am a fan of the summer Olympics over the winter. We love to watch swimming, track and field, volleyball, cycling...
My favorite is gymnastics. I was so excited the Fierce 5 won a gold! I always wanted to be a gymnast and watching them I remembered I had an old, very old, picture of me back when I was an Olympic gymnast hopeful...ok, maybe not.

It's potty time...maybe.

Quinn has been asking to go on the big girl potty and also has been taking her own diaper off. So we  decided to start potty training her and today was the first day.
Quinn and I went to Wal-Mart last night so she could pick out her big girl underpants. It was a tough choice and she went back and forth between Hello Kitty, fairies, Minnie Mouse, and princesses. In the end she picked the princesses because Rapunzel is on one of them and that is her favorite movie.
I have to admit that the thought of potty training is not appealing to me. Plus it is just making me realize my "baby" is growing up. None the less we attempted today. She had 4 accidents and never went in the potty. She sat on the potty for what seemed like most of the day. She would sit there and sing, cross her legs, play with the toilet paper, play with the shower curtain, anything but go potty. She would tell me she needed to pee pee as she was going all over the floor. I even gave her the M&M incentive that worked so well with Claire. She wanted the candy and she tried but was unsuccessful.
So, I am saying a prayer that it all clicks and she starts to get it tomorrow or we may be waiting and I will be patting that diaper bottom a little longer...and that may just be ok with me. ;)

Beating the heat

It is so hot! The temp today was 113. We have been going to the splash pad or the pool often to keep from sweltering.

Pictures Pictures Pictures

I obviously take a lot of pictures of the girls. I want the shirt that has a picture of a camera on it with the saying "Mamas going to snap". So clever! Anyway, with all the picture taking I can barely decide which ones I want to print out. I saw this idea on pinterest and I knew I had to do it. Thanks to my handy husband all I had to do was buy the frame and he did all the hard work. (math stuff...like measuring) I still had a hard time choosing pictures but I love that I can swap them out as I want. You have to love pinterest!

Seashells

These are the seashells the girls collected in Galveston.
