*Picture of the week*

My dad turned 60 the beginning of this month. Here is a picture of him with all of his grand kids wearing their Boomer Sooner shirts.

I have loved taking pictures for a long time. I really love taking pictures of my sweet and precious girls. I may be a little biased but they are probably the the most beautiful things to photograph!

 

I have always wanted to explore doing photography as more than a hobby. So once we had saved for a nicer camera I started to learn. I have a super duper friend that is showing me the ropes and I am so grateful for her and all she has taught me. The next step was then to branch out and take pictures of more than just my family.

 

A week ago I had my first session with the sweetest family. They are friends of mine and were willing to trust me on something I had never done. I feel like they turned out well. I have another family session this weekend and then one more the following weekend.

 

I have to admit I am absolutely, positively scared (more like terrified) out of my mind to pursue this. So many questions run through my head. What if I fail, what if I don't have cute ideas, what if I am not creative enough, what if I stink at this, why would anyone want me when there are tons of professionals out there.

 

I have prayed about this so much and doors have been opened that at the moment I am walking through. I am trying to give it all to God. If he wants Amber Lieser Photography to take off then it will. If this is a lesson he wants to teach me and it doesn't work out then that's ok too. I am thanking him for this opportunity and I am giving Him the props for even getting me to this point.

 

So, even though I am scared and even though I question myself daily I am going to give it a try with God's help and direction on where it is to go.

Picture Time

 

 

A friend of mine let me borrow one of her camera lenses for a family portrait session I was doing so I had to practice with it. My favorite people to take pictures of were more than willing that day.

 



Pinterest Project

I saw on Pinterest where you color on plates with Sharpies and then bake them in the oven. The baking helps keep the color on them. So we all made our very own plate. Jared too! I assumed we could eat off them. I am now realizing that is not the case. The marker comes off when you wash it. We never ate off them because I was worried the color would come off when wet. It only came off when scrubbed on. Anyway, I guess they are meant to be made and then put up as decoration. I do not have anywhere to put them so at some point they will secretly make it out of the house. Thankfully they were only $1 plates from Dollar Tree. It had potential of being really neat. Oh well.

Fort

The girls and I built a fort the other day. The girls made sure it had an opening to watch tv and that it was big enough for their princess chairs. They had fun watching Curious George and eating waffles. Claire told Jared she wanted to sleep in it. Jared told her we would build a fort in her room and let her sleep in it. Won't that be fun! I may have to sleep in it too!

 

 

 



Skype

We finally got with it and learned how to skype. The girls wanted to tell grandma and papa about the princesses so we set it up and tried it out before we left for the fair. Then right before bed the girls got on there again and told them how it went. I think they liked watching themselves on screen more than actually talking.

 



Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream

We took the girls to see Disney on Ice at the fair this year. I told the girls we were going about week before we went and they mentioned it every day. "Is today when we see the princesses?" The show was the Tiana, Cinderella, and Rapunzel stories. Quinn loves Cinderella and Claire loves Rapunzel so it was a perfect one to go to. They were so excited and I am so thankful that it was such a good show. Jared and I were very pleased and it was fun to watch the girls' faces light up and to hear them sing the songs. It lasted almost 2 hours and had an intermission. The girls were excited to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse and they also got to see all of the princesses at the very end. Big plus. We really liked the Tangled one the best. They flew around in the air and the girls thought that was pretty cool. Somehow we made it out of there without buying anything!!! We didn't leave with a doll or a cup or a princess crown that came with cotton candy ($12.00) or a t-shirt. The girls were so good and didn't even bother with it.Successful day and a fun memory.

Our tickets also got us into the fair so we got there early and walked around. The girls loved the petting zoo and the craft area where they made sand bracelets. It was the perfect day...overcast and cloudy. It wasn't too hot or cold. It rained while we were in the show, couldn't have timed it better.
