Two little fishies

 So the second week of swimming lessons for the girls went "swimmingly"! They were loving it by the end of the week and would ask every morning if they were going to swimming lessons that day. It was like two different children. The directer had said on the last day that if you wanted to sign up for the last session of lessons she still had available spots and was willing to even let people sign up for just one of the weeks rather than both. I opted to sign the girls up for the second week of the last session. I am so glad I did...the girls were so excited to go back and even during their week off would ask if it was the day to start back. This time around Claire got Miss. Kelly (Quinn's teacher from the last session) and Quinn had a new teacher, Miss. Caroline. Both girls loved their swim teachers but I think Miss. Kelly was both of the girls' favorite.

What is really cute is that the the girls would play like they were at swimming lessons at home. They would take turns being the teacher (usually Miss Kelly) and would go over morning exercises and then would get out the microphone and say into it "Free time" and "Everybody out and go do exercises." just like they did at lessons. Adorable!

 The first day of the 3rd week Quinn went off the low dive by herself and I think surprised Miss. Caroline that she did. The next day she opted for help and had someone drop her in and did that the rest of the week. Claire has been jumping off the low dive by herself the whole time so that didn't surprise me but on the next to the last day her teacher told me Claire wanted to go off the high dive with her. A few of the other kids in her class had already gone off the high dive with Miss. Kelly so I assume Claire thought she should too. She did great and even told me it was exciting and that the next day she was going to do it again. I was very proud of her and was calm the last day of swimming lessons because I knew she was wanting to go off with the teacher. Claire surprised me that day!! She went off the high dive ALONE! I was a nervous wreck and yet so proud of my brave girl. She looked so little climbing up the ladder and then walking to the end of the board .At that moment I wanted to laugh and cry and beam with happiness for her...and I did. (Yes, I am that mom!)

I really was amazed at how much the girls grew and learned and how more confident they became during that 3 weeks. I loved being able to be there to watch it all happen. I loved watching them interact with others. It was great to be able to see them and to see how they behaved and listened...they are such good girls and I am so blessed!  

So, now that swim lessons are over I am not sure what we are going to do for the rest of the summer. We will be going to the pool often I am sure and will definitely have the girls watch the swimming events in the Olympics. Who knows we may have a future swimmer in our family.
